The Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Alliance is a collaborative partnership of conservation organizations and industry sponsors who are dedicated to promoting responsible and accurate communications regarding CWD and supporting strategies that effectively control it.
The Alliance encourages the development of solutions that do not necessitate the depopulation of wild cervid populations, and recognizes that appropriate public information and education are vital to the resolution of the CWD dilemma.
The Boone and Crockett Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Mule Deer Foundation formed the Chronic Wasting Disease Alliance in January 2002. These organizations agreed to pool resources, share information, and collaborate on ways to positively and effectively address CWD. Thirteen other organizations have since joined the alliance.
