Broadcasting for more than sixteen years, Backcountry Utah with host Brian Brinkerhoff, has become one of the longest running and respected outdoor radio programs in the state of Utah. It provides listeners with fresh and timely outdoor information, covering a wide range of outdoor opportunities for listeners to enjoy.

 

Welcoming a variety of guests to the show, Brian features family friendly outdoor activities and destinations throughout the West. Exciting topics include traditional outdoor interests such as hunting, fishing, and wildlife conservation along with camping, cooking and four wheel recreation. Safety and responsibility are highly encouraged in every aspect of outdoor enjoyment, discussed on the show. In addition, Brian discusses topics that are beyond the ordinary, including alternative energy sources to run your home or cabin, bobsledding in Park City, Utah, and the Fort Bridger Rendezvous in Wyoming.

Brian loves the outdoors and enthusiastically puts together a well organized and upbeat drivetime segment through the Backcountry Radio Network.. In addition, Brian maintains a dynamic and informative website at www.backcountry-utah.com where visitors can stay current on outdoor news and events.

Brian Brinkerhoff, host of the program, has been reporting Utah?s outdoor news since 1983 when, in High School, he began writing outdoor columns in Northern Utah County?s local newspapers. He authored Best Easy Day Hikes- Salt Lake City, published by Falcon Press and has worked with numerous other statewide publications, including the Daily Herald and Deseret Morning News. He is a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America and the Professional Outdoor Writers Registry.
