Adams, best-known as the vocalist for heavy metal band Manowar, now has a new audience and a new venue on MyOutdoorTV.com, the world’s largest online network of outdoor programming. But it isn’t his music that is center stage here; it’s his new hunting and fishing video series, Wild Life and Wild Times.

Joining Eric Adams as co-host of Wild Life and Wild Times is wildlife journalist Chester Moore, also a heavy metal musician with his own band, FREAK13. Adams and Moore collaborated on the video by pursuing game and fish all over the country, then compiling some of their best adventures in a feature-length DVD. Now, many of the hunting and fishing experiences shot for the DVD can be seen as a video series on MyOutdoorTV.com.

Adams, a master bowhunting education instructor in the state of New York and consultant on the issues of safety and ethics in hunting, expanded his hunting horizons after meeting Chester Moore. “Back home in New York, I was limited to hunting whitetail deer and turkeys,” he said. “Chester opened up my eyes to a world of different species to hunt, and we show many of them in our videos.”

In addition to hosting Wild Life and Wild Times, Adams wrote and performed the music for the DVD. “I sat in my studio and just started jamming on the guitar until I heard something that I thought was cool,” he said. “It’s a little different writing music to picture, but my hours in the studio with Manowar made the project flow without a hitch.”

Moore, a zoologist, book author, and writer for numerous outdoors publications, contrasted hunting and fishing with heavy metal music. “Heavy metal and the outdoors might seem worlds apart, but in reality, there are far more similarities than you might think,” he explained. “True heavy metal fans and outdoors lovers share a common link because they seek the extremes in life. I know because I am both a metalhead and I passionately crave encounters with wildlife.”

The Wild Life and Wild Times videos on MyOutdoorTV.com feature hunts for game as typical as whitetail deer and wild turkey, and as remarkable as a huge buffalo, Catalina goat, and emu. Other adventures include salmon fishing, a rattlesnake roundup, wild boar hunts, and much more.
