OUTDOOR APPAREL

Camo patterns come in all hues, designs and dimensions. This guide to apparel helps you make the right choices for the season and game.

Socks

If you've done a lot of hunting or spending time outdoors, you know one thing. If your feet aren't comfortable, you're not comfortable. If your feet are cold, wet or cramped, it's hard to enjoy a hunt or a hike.

Longtime guide Chad Shearer says step number one in keeping your feet comfy is wearing the right socks. Here are his recommendations for what goes between your feet and your boots.

"I do not wear cotton socks," he begins. "I want a sock that is going to breathe, that is going to whisk the moisture away from my feet. There's a lot of unique blends out there today if you do your research. Try them out but try them out in the summer. What I like to tell people is if you live down in Alabama, and its 80 or 90 degrees in the summer, put a pair of these socks on, even if you're wearing your tennis shoes. Then, feel the difference between them and a normal pair of cotton socks and it will sell you on the blended fabrics."
