Martin-Wells, Nixon and Akinth Inducted into Hall of Fame |
(The Outdoor Wire)- Founder and CEO, Gary Mason, has announced that professional bass
anglers Pam Martin-Wells and Larry Nixon, along with Tommy Akin, public
relations director for Avery and Strike King, will be among those
entering the Legends of the Outdoors National Hall of Fame in 2007.
Other nominees are Alex Rutledge of Hunter's Specialties, Larry
Weishuhn of Thompson Center Arms, Steve McCadams, outdoor writer and
professional hunting and fishing guide, and Marion McCollum, owner of
Mack's Prairie Wings.
Information provided by the Hall of Fame point out that selections
are reserved for those persons who "through countless hours of hard
work and devotion to the outdoors, in both hunting and fishing, have
played an integral part in setting the standards and guidelines for the
rest of the outdoor world to follow."
The ceremony will be held August 17, 2007 at the Sheraton Music
City in Nashville, Tenn. Special rates are in effect for those who wish
to attend. This year's guest speaker will be professional angler, Hank
Parker.
