There are many kinds of meatball recipes using different kinds of meats and spices. While some meatballs are mostly made of meat and ingredients to cement the ball, others may include other ingredients. How one makes meatballs depends as much on one's cultural background as on individual taste. There are even meatless meatballs to satisfy vegetarian palates.

Deviled eggs are so popular that special serving dishes and carrying trays are sold specifically for them. Prepared deviled eggs are now available in some supermarkets.

Look, I know that “fish dip” doesn’t sound all that appetizing to us Westerners, but it’s a way of life in some parts of the country. Florida’s panhandle or “Redneck Riviera” is big on fish dip. This is also great with any leftover or fresh fish that is cooked, cooled and flaked. Serve with toast points or crackers.

Cornbread is a common bread in United States cuisine, particularly associated with the South and Southwest, as well as being a traditional staple for populations where wheat bread was prohibitively expensive. In some parts of the South it is crumbled into a glass of cold buttermilk and eaten with a spoon, and it is also widely eaten with barbecue and chili con carne. It is still a common side dish, often served with homemade butter, chunks of onion or scallions. Cornbread crumbs are also used in some poultry stuffings; cornbread stuffing is particularly associated with Thanksgiving turkeys.
