About The Agency
Dr. Jeffrey P. Koenings is the Director of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, appointed by the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission. He received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Fisheries, and his Master of Science, Water Resources, from The University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He then went on to receive his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Natural Resources from The University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), in 1977 and his National Science Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellow from The University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), 1976-197.
Dr. Koenings is now a part of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council as Washington State's Council Position. He is also a member of the National Advisory Acceptance Team (NAAT) established by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to advise the Service on the 56 state and territories' comprehensive wildlife strategies; and representing the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.
