World Class Dove Hunt

September is a month when dove hunters are in the fields in many states. In terms of hunter participation, the mourning dove is this country's most popular gamebird.

doveHowever, to experience perhaps the best dove hunting in the world, bass pro and avid wingshooter Shaw Grigsby says you need to take that once-in-a-lifetime trip to Argentina

"There's a time of the year in Argentina where you shoot fields and that's like what would be our spring time," he says. "That would be from March through June. By July, the birds move to the mountains."

He continues, "That's when I traveled there with friends and it was absolutely fabulous. We weren't down in the bottomland shooting like in the Unites States. You're up in the mountains with the most gorgeous views, looking out over miles and miles of hillside and mountains, and countries and fields and sunsets and sunrises that are just gorgeous."

"Doves flying all over. I don't think at any time you could have fewer than 500 or 1,000 doves in your sight at anytime"

"Its phenomenal, I didn't have a dream of what it'd be like, if you take your greatest expectations and magnify it by about 10 and that's what it is, it's totally amazing."
